Ben Serns Wins LB Senior Amateur Championship

The Long Beach Golf Festival is underway, and Ben Serns (last year’s runner-up in the A Flight) is the first winner of the year after claiming the 2010 Men's Senior Amateur Championship on Friday, May 14. With rounds of 71-68-70 at El Dorado, Skylinks and Rec Park 18 respectively, Serns cruised to a 9 shot victory over Ron Quick.

Quick was the Low Amateur in the 1991 Long Beach Open and won the 1997 Long Beach Match Play. Finishing third by a shot was El Dorado Park Club Champion Mel Collins, who bogeyed the 54th hole.
