Zellmer Repeats in Men's City, Gulugian Wins Women's City in Playoff

LBGF-071_lrgDerek Zellmer repeated as the Champion in the Long Beach Men’s City Championship, carding an even par 72 in the final round at Skylinks at Long Beach GC, overtaking a faltering 36-hole leader Kevin Lee of Cerritos.

Monterrey Park’s Andrew Roque made a valiant charge with a final round 69, but ended up a stroke short at 7-under par for three rounds over each of the City’s regulation courses.

 

In the Women’s City Championship, Ani Gulugian of Irvine and UCLA, needed a play off to defeat Lakewood’s Noelle Zavaletta, who attends Long Beach State. Ani and Noelle tied at 145 after two rounds at Rec Park and El Dorado. Complete results of both events can be found at www.lbgolffestival.com .

 

The award winning Long Beach Golf Festival culminates with the $160,000 Long Beach Open at Skylinks and El Dorado Golf Courses from July 28 to 31. At the conclusion of the Open, the 2011 class of inductees into the Long Beach Golf Hall of Fame will also be honored.
