CRAIG KESSLER – Craig is the Executive Director of the Southern California Public Links Golf Association. In this position he has championed philosophical changes in how municipal governments maintain and operate their golf courses, with key attention to planning for and meeting infrastructure needs and ensuring affordable golf throughout Los Angeles County. Craig was also involved in the reconstruction of PubLinks member golf course Skylinks in 2004.
The induction ceremony for Small, Manson and Kessler will take place upon the conclusion of the Long Beach Open, which is also the culmination of the Long Beach Golf Festival, at approximately 2:00 p.m. at El Dorado Park GC on Sunday, July 27.
JEFF MANSON – Jeff Manson was a two-time Moore League Champion and CIF Southern Section Champion at Millikan High School. In 1987, he won the PGA National Junior Championship and the Big “I” Insurance Youth Championship. These two wins led to his being named the Junior Golfer of the Year in 1987. In 1989 he won the Long Beach City Stroke Play and in 1990 Jeff was an All American selection at the University of Arizona. After college, he attempted to play professionally for several years, before becoming a respected teaching professional at Skylinks and Lakewood golf courses, giving lessons to hundreds of Long Beach golfers.
TERRY SMALL – Terry was a CIF standout at LB Poly High School, and played collegiately at San Jose State. In 1964 he won the NCAA Division I men’s golf championship at The Broadmoor – the last year the championship was played at match play. He finished 17th in the NCAA Championship the next year, and was a two time All American. As a professional, he won the California State Open in 1969 and 1970, and was a member of the PGA Tour.
